WE’RE ON!  WE HAVE been closely watching the forecast for tomorrow and we have decided move forward and hold the event tomorrow.  We are executing our interim decision to move up the start time to 11AM, and run a point to point downwind race for Elite and Open divisions. PLEASE note start time of 11am and registration 9am-10am. Registration will remain at Station Beach. Weather permitting, we will run the Novice and Kids race in the harbour AFTER the completion of the Open/Elite race, at approximately 1:30 PM.  For Elite and Open divisions we will have a 1:30 pm CUT-OFF time for all racers to complete the course(s).  If you have not arrived at the finish line by 1:30 PM you may be asked to end your race at that point (in which case boat/jet ski shuttle to the finish will be provided).  

Here are the specifics regarding logistics from ASH at West Shore: 

We will have a bus parked at Station Beach Kincardine. It will no later than 10:30am from Station Beach to take competitors ONLY – NOT BOARDS to race start points for both open and elite divisions. All competitors for both divisions will get on the SAME bus (competitors will drop their boards at start line)

What would have to happen BEFORE bus LEAVES from STATION BEACH KINCARDINE at 10:30am before the races start:

-ELITE division – Point Clark Harbour Lighthouse Race Start Point – 15km downwinder (see direction link below)
– ELITE would drop their boards, paddles, life jackets and hydration off at the Point Clark Lighthouse drop off point. We will have a volunteer here to watch the boards on the beach. -Then drive their vehicles into Station Beach Kincardine to park at the finish line and REGISTER -Station Beach Kincardine is where all competitors for ELITE and OPEN DIVISIONS would all load onto a single school bus to drive back out to Point Clark to their boards -this way their vehicles would be at the finish line.Bus would leave from Kincardine at 10:30am sharp to be at Point Clark for 11:00am race start.
-OPEN DIVISION – 10th concession / boiler beach road race start point 6.5km downwinder (See map link below)
-OPEN would drop their boards, paddles, life jackets and hydration off at the 10th concession / boiler beach road drop off point where we will have a volunteer at to watch boards at the beach.
-Then drive their vehicles into Station Beach Kincardine to park at the finish line AND CHECK IN/REGISTER-Station Beach Kincardine is where OPEN AND ELITE COMPETITORS would all load onto a single school bus to drive back out to 10th concession / Boiler beach road to their boards -this way their vehicles would be at the finish line.Bus would leave from Kincardine at 10:30am sharp to be at the 10th concession / boiler beach road for 11:00am race start. Elite riders would drop open riders off at this half way point on their way out to Point Clark.
If a participant competitor is running behind and can’t make the drop points they would have to go straight to the race start points and they would be responsible for finding there own way back to their vehicles after the race. 

BEING ON TIME FOR THE 10:30am bus departure from station beach to starting points is CRUCIAL FOR THIS TO BE SUCCESSFUL and on time.  We understand this means early drop off of your boards, but this is the only way to give us the best chance of completing the event safely.

8:30 – 9:30 BOARD DROP OFF AT START POINTS (this needs to happen before registration at Station Beach so that you are ready to board the bus from Station Beach back to the start line):

OPEN: BOILER BEACH – Click here for directions (Boiler Beach Rd and 10th Concession) +/- 6.5 km

10:30 Board bus to Race Start Point(s)

11:00 RACE Start(s) for OPEN and ELITE (simultaneous start at two different times)

1:30-2:00 PM  NOVICE and KIDS race at Station Beach in Harbour

2:00 – 2:30 Awards by our Prize Sponsors, Olukai, Kaenon, Georgian Bay Spirit Co. and Epic North Coffee Roasters.
